Program Overview
The 2026 Fulbright Teaching
Excellence and Achievement (FTEA) Program is a fully funded professional
development program sponsored by the Fulbright Program of the U.S.
Government.
This prestigious program offers Bangladeshi
secondary-level teachers an opportunity to participate in advanced academic
training, classroom practicum, and cultural exchange in the United States,
strengthening teaching excellence and leadership capacity.
Program
Components
1.
Financial Coverage
The U.S. Government will bear all
program-related expenses, including:
- International round-trip airfare
- U.S. domestic travel
- Accommodation
- Per diem (daily allowance)
- Health insurance
- Academic and program costs
There is no application fee
and no personal financial contribution required from participants.
2.
Academic Seminar
Participants will attend general
academic seminars at a U.S. host university focusing on:
- Modern teaching methodologies
- Student-centered learning approaches
- Content-based instruction
- Lesson planning and assessment
- Instructional technology for classrooms
Intensive English Language
instruction will be provided for participants
who require additional practice to strengthen academic communication skills.
3.
Practicum (Minimum 40 Hours)
The program includes a minimum
40-hour practicum with a U.S. partner teacher in a secondary school
near the host university.
Participants will:
- Observe and engage in real U.S. classroom environments
- Collaborate directly with American teachers
- Apply newly learned pedagogical techniques
Ongoing mentoring, cultural
enrichment, and professional support will be provided throughout the
program.
The FTEA Program equips participants
with:
- Practical classroom resources
- Transferable teaching strategies
- Skills to later serve as trainers of trainers in
Bangladesh
Eligibility Requirements (Bangladesh)
Applicants must meet all of the
following criteria:
- Be a Bangladeshi citizen currently residing in
Bangladesh
- Teach students at the secondary level (approximately
ages 12–18)
- Be a current secondary-level teacher of:
- English / EFL
- Mathematics
- Science
- Foreign Languages
- Social Studies
- Journalism / Communications
- Special Education (in relevant subjects)
- Work at institutions serving primarily a local
population
- Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree
- Have a minimum of five (5) years of full-time
teaching experience by the start of the program
- Demonstrate leadership qualities in professional
work
- Possess excellent English language skills
suitable for postgraduate-level coursework
- Submit a complete application according to
program guidelines

Proficiency Requirement
Shortlisted candidates must
demonstrate English proficiency by achieving:
- Minimum TOEFL score: 45
